Spelt Pizza Bites (Kid-Approved!)

Makes about 12 bites

 

🥣 Ingredients:

1. 4 cups spelt flour

2. 1½ cups warm water

3. 2 tablespoons maple syrup

4. 1 tablespoon dry yeast

4. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

5. A pinch of salt

 

For filling (later):Tomato sauce and grated cheese

 

 Instructions:

1. Make the doughIn a mixer (like a KitchenAid) or a large bowl, combine all the ingredients.

2. Mix until a soft dough forms. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 3 hours, until it rises and becomes fluffy.

3. Shape the dough: Roll the dough out into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Add the filling Spread a layer of tomato sauce over the dough, then sprinkle generously with grated cheese.

4. Roll and cut- roll the dough up tightly (like a cinnamon roll), then slice into about 12 pieces.

5. Bake place the pieces on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes, until golden and bubbly.

 

Tips: Feel free to freeze them! Just take out 1–2 pieces for school lunch, reheat, and they’re ready to go—easy and delicious 🍕✨
